We are pleased to announce our partnership with LetsLocalise, a digital platform that enables schools to tap into support from their local communities. How does LetsLocalise work?The platform creates connections between the community, businesses and neighbouring schools. By allowing schools to share details of upcoming events, fundraisers and more, individuals and companies can see how and where they can most productively offer their help, expertise, time and money in ways that are productive, meaningful and enjoyable.This exciting platform connects schools with individuals and organisations keen to offer support by monetary and in-kind donations, volunteering, climate action programmes, career workshops, and supply chain partnerships.You are also able to document and track community engagement in one centralised place helping schools to evidence their efforts to Ofsted. We are proud to have been named finalists for the 2024 Education Resources Awards
For the second consecutive year, HES, the commercial brand providing support services to educational establishments in the London Borough of Havering, was nominated for the Education Resources Awards in the 'Supplier of the Year – Not for Profit' category. This nomination reflects our continued commitment to providing exceptional resources and customer service to schools in and around Havering.The winners were announced on Thursday 18 April at the black-tie award ceremony organised by The British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA) in association with Brilliant Marketing Solutions. The event provided an opportunity for leading providers of educational resources to come together and celebrate the teachers, schools and organisations that make enhancing the quality of education their focal point.Although we didn't secure the win this year, we are incredibly proud to have been recognised alongside other trusted suppliers. Congratulations to The LTA who won the Supplier of the Year – Not for Profit award and all the other winners and nominees across the various categories!

On 16 April our two north London teams (NWL and NENCL) are joining to become one North London health protection team, to work alongside our South London health protection team and delivering the same high-quality service. New all-through special free school for Havering
The London Borough of Havering has identified the need to establish a new school to meet the increasing demand for specialist provision in the borough. This follows Section 6A of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 (the 'free school presumption'), where a local authority must seek proposals from suitably qualified organisations to establish a new school as a 'free school'. The new 300 place all-through special school will be established at Balgores Field site in Romford and is planned to open from September 2027. As the strategic commissioner of special school places in the local area, we are launching a competition process to appoint a suitably qualified academy trust to run the new special free school. All suitably qualified academy trusts are encouraged to apply. We are particularly seeking an academy trust with a reputable track record of operating special schools for pupils with Communication and Interaction and Social, Emotional, Mental and Health needs.
